WRWA GALA & SILENT AUCTION - August 14, 2010

“River Revelry” ~ Make Reservations NOW and Save $$

WRWA's annual Summer Gala, River Revelry, is Saturday, August 14, 5-8PM at the same great location as last year, the Fitton Farm, 564 River Road.  Many thanks to Dick and Betty Fitton for their continued generosity in hosting this event.  Encourage your friends to join WRWA and support this wonderful evening that raises almost one-fifth of the annual budget needed to carry out our many WRWA projects and protect our watershed.  Reservations for the Gala are $80 per person until the 7/30/10 RSVP date.  After that, late reservations are $100.  Sign up now and save that $20 for the new Fish Bowl Raffle (details below)!

As always, WRWA’s renowned Silent Auction remains the central attraction of the evening.  Exciting donations are arriving daily and will soon be available for viewing at www.westportwatershed.org.  New this year, in addition to our traditional auction, will be a fun Fish Bowl Raffle for specially selected items.  Raffle tickets will be on sale, CASH ONLY, at $5 each, 5 for $20.  The more tickets you purchase, the better your chances to win.  Remember, come to BID OFTEN and BID HIGH; this is a fun FUNDraiser!

Wilhelmina’s Catering of Little Compton will serve a delicious selection of hors d’oeuvres while Cardoza’s Wine & Spirits pours a range of spirits as well as selections from Westport Rivers Vineyard, Sakonnet Vineyards, and Just Beer.  You’ll also enjoy additional offerings from Chris Schlesinger’s East Coast Grill, Coastal Roasters, Formaggio Kitchen, Green Gal Catering, Shy Brothers Farm, Spindrift Soda, The Back Eddy, The Bayside Restaurant, Wicked Kickin’ Savory Cheesecakes, and Spindrift Soda.  Our music, a special collection of “river-themed” music, will be provided by City Lights through a generous gift from The Cedars Assisted Living.  As in the past, this year’s Gala is a waste-free event with all compostable service items.  We appreciate proper disposal of any other items not distributed at the event.

Great thanks to our 2010 Gala Corporate Benefactor: Lees Market and Corporate Sponsors: ABC Rent-A-Tent, Citizens-Union Savings Bank, Elegant Restrooms of Rent-A- Jon, Fiduciary Trust Company International, Katzenbach & Company Real Estate, Lees Oil Service, Inc., Mechanics Cooperative Bank, Sovereign Bank, Waring-Sullivan Homes of Memorial Tribute, Westport Federal Credit Union and Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery.  Their ongoing support ensures a Gala to remember.

A wonderful evening is in-store. Come and revel in our river and all it has to offer!
